Many women (and some men) find themselves getting into sex work of some sort as a way to financially survive in a tough economy.
Sex work includes stripping, escorting, acting in porn movies, dominatrix, 'camming,' erotic massage, and Sugar Daddy / Sugar Baby type dynamics.
Additionally, especially here in the Bay Area, there are many other forms of sexuality professionals like Tantra teachers, Sex & Intimacy Coaches like myself, and Sex Therapists.
I'm lumping all of this together under "sexuality professionals" to acknowledge that this is a demographic of professionals who shares some of the same struggles and day-to-day challenges.
Some of these challenges include:
How to tell if a client or job is going to be creepy or draining, how to screen clients, how to know what your actual boundaries are, how to attract the type of clients who are looking for the *actual service* you offer, how to heal from boundary violations you have experienced (both personally and on the job) and still keep working, and how to know when it's time to change careers.
And a big one, how to *actually* change careers.
Many sexuality professionals enjoy working with sensual energy in some capacity, but need help finding a more aligned way to offer their services, where they still make good money, but get to honor the boundaries that feel good to them.
The truth is...
It isn't benefitting anybody for you to keep doing work that is draining to you. And It is TOTALLY possible to have a private practice doing exactly what you want, within the boundaries you prefer, with the type of clients you love.
I know, because I've created that for myself. And I can help you do the same.
how long are you going to ignore your inner guidance?
The sad thing within this community is that so many sex workers are super intuitive powerful women with strong inner guidance, but because of either financial pressure (like supporting a kid), or simply having a complex trauma history, they keep ignoring subtle (or not so subtle) messages that it is time to move on.
These messages usually first show up as physical symptoms. Their back or wrist goes out, so they need to take time off work (time they wouldn't normally let themself take off). But then they're right back to the grind again, feeling a persistant tiredness or heaviness, or increasingly numbing out with drugs or alcohol, to face the daily reality of their work.
The saddest part is that many sex workers actually try to leave the industry, but fail.
They make a big deal out of quitting, but are reluctantly back after a few months, because they failed to develop the skills to run a new business that would actually thrive.
That’s because changing careers — or simply refining your practice to be more aligned with your values — requires time, strategy, and investing in additional training and mentorship.
The good news is, this is totally possible. And I’ve got the tools to help you do this.
Hi, I'm Regina
I am currently a Sex, Relationship & Intimacy Coach and Tantra Coach. My day to day work involves helping singles and couples experience better relationships, intimacy, and more fulfilling sex.
But what you may not know about me is that before I did this, I was a web designer for 15 years. It took me over 7 years (of being totally tired of it) to make my career change into the healing arts.
During that time, I extensively studied Business, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, in addition to the actual coaching and healing modalities I would go on to practice. I got multiple Certifications and a Masters Degree.
After learning how to launch a holistic healing business that would actually be profitable, I spent a few years coaching other women healers on this in my previous business, Sacred Work.
It brings me joy to now share these skills and experience, to help sexuality professionals create more fulfilling work for themselves.
business coaching for sex workers
The thing that most sex workers have in common is that they have had a trauma history.
When people experience trauma, often it becomes difficult for them to easily know their own boundaries. It can be hard to make decisions or changes too. The nervous system gets fried, and the person starts operating out of survival mode on a daily basis. They know they are not doing what they want, but they feel powerless to change it.
My work with you would be a combination of counseling & healing work with business coaching and mentorship.
Both need to happen for you to actually make the change you want.
And I - and many others I know - are living proof that you can work with sexuality in your business, make good money, but also honor your personal boundaries.
